Exhibition from 09.28.2024 to 01.19.2025, Tina Barney, “Family Ties”, Jeu de Paume

At the end of the 1970s, Tina Barney began photographing her family and friends, who, like her, came from the wealthy classes of the East Coast of the United States. A keen observer of family rituals, she was particularly interested in intergenerational relations, dress codes and the model’s relationship to her surroundings.

The Jeu de Paume is an art center for the dissemination of 20th- and 21st-century images, producing exhibitions, film cycles, symposia, seminars, educational activities and publications. In particular, the center enables emerging artists to exhibit their work.
