Exhibition L. Horvath 23.05.2024
Exhibition until May 23, 2024: The Art of Detail, Architect Le Corbusier / Photographer Laszlo Horvath, Fondation Le Corbusier
In 42 photographs, Laszlo Horvath takes a look at five of Le Corbusier’s works: Maison La Roche, Villa Savoye, Chapelle Notre-Dame-du-Haut, Convent Sainte-Marie de la Tourette and the Firminy complex. His images highlight the materiality of architecture and the variations that light brings to Le Corbusier’s work.
The Maison La Roche, designed by Le Corbusier and Pierre Jeanneret between 1923 and 1925, is an icon of architectural purism and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Much photographed from the 1920s onwards, the villa illustrates Le Corbusier’s innovative principles, notably the use of reinforced concrete and the implementation of the five points for a new architecture, contributing to its renown.
