Michael Erimo
Photographer

Michael Erimo was born in Paris 15 arrondissement, but lives now in 14 arrondissement. A few decades were necessary to make this 1 km trip. This is not anodyne. This simply demonstrates a strong attachment to a native town and moreover to a neighborhood that is all in one for him – including an endless scene for such a curious bystander – a bystander willing to share while roaming for years. Hence no better instrument than a camera for this passionate photographer particularly interested in street photography and people. His relationship with contemporaries can easily be felt through his photographs proposing on the fly portraits while trying to put some emphasis on expressions, looks or situations in day-to-day life. His approach always privileged unknown citizens but great characters, either charismatic or expressive, reflecting an assertive personality without artifice. Through his lens, Parisians are simply themselves, individuals illustrating the rich diversity in human nature.

As a Leica M user (digital and analog), Michael is an active member of Leica LFI community. This allowed him to have the honor of getting some photos published in Leica LFI Magazines, as well as highlighted in LFI Galleries as Picture of the Week or Masterhot, or even exhibited at photo events.

Is it possible to talk about photography without ever showing any?

For the Photo-IP team, l’Expo Photo was an obvious choice. To discover or rediscover a photographer, a collection, the iconographic treatment of the same theme… To live a visual, artistic or journalistic experience, and why not, legal, under the angle of originality as conceived by the copyright, such is the goal of this Photo-IP Expo.  On a regular basis, professional photographers will encourage us to see the beautiful, the unusual, the dramatic, the comic, all the facets of existence, where our jaded or over-hasty eye would see nothing.
